Assessment of Quality of Newly Placed Concrete Bridge Deck Using GPR
Stakeholders were desirous to determine the condition/quality of concrete after placement using a non-destructive method. This was necessary because of equipment breakdown during the placement. Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) was the method of assessment utilized. An area of approximately 100ft X 50ft was scanned and the data collected was analyzed to identify probable areas of defect.
Investigation of Reinforcement in Concrete Columns
Homeowners needed to determine the structural integrity of their house foundation after observing settling at different areas. One of the tasks necessary for this assessment was determining if the contractors met the requirements of the design documents during construction. We were assigned to use a non-destructive method (GPR) to determine the layout of rebar in 10 out of the 68 concrete columns supporting the building. Design documents provided to the contractor called for eight (8) #4 rebar to be used in all columns.
Construction Oversight and Quality Control for Deep Foundations
Stakeholders of a Statewide Emergency Communication Tower project utilized our services during the construction of deep foundations across Texas. Services provided included: excavation/drilling oversight, reinforcement layout verification, on-site concrete testing, concrete placement oversight, Noise level monitoring at select locations and client advisory.
Locating/Mapping Utility and Conduit Lines in an Underground Garage
We were contracted to locate and outline the locations of underground utilities and conduit in an area of concrete slab about to be saw-cut for the installation of new utilities.
